The collaboration between Waris Dirie and HEIMAT to launch a women’s private fitness club is a perfect reflection of her mission to empower women.
Waris Dirie is an inspiring woman who is known as a supermodel, bestselling author, and a human rights activist. With her strength and sense of aesthetics, she embodies female empowerment at every level. As a 2019 Sunhak Peace Prize laureate, Waris has dedicated her life to fighting for women’s rights and advocating for the eradication of female genital mutilation (FGM).
HEIMAT by Waris Dirie
Waris Dirie and Heimat, the German word for “home,” have teamed up to launch HEIMAT by Waris Dirie, a brand-new private fitness club for women in Paris.
The club’s credo “Proud Female Fitness” is part of Waris’ continuous effort for her mission. And it shows the impact Waris is making through her activism and art. Throughout the club, artworks by African female artists are displayed and available for sale. The proceeds will go to the Desert Flower Foundation. This will help to further her efforts to end FGM and promote gender equality on a global scale.
The club also offers a strong private community and programming that goes beyond a traditional fitness studio. Permanent art exhibitions, cultural activities, and regular premium events help bring women together to support each other and build a strong community.
By creating a space where women can come together to work out, relax, and connect, Waris is continuing her work to empower women and create a better future for all.
