Waris Dirie, Author of 『Desert Flower』, Successfully Finishes Her Book Signing Event

2019 Sunhak Peace Prize Laureate, Waris Dirie, successfully ended her book signing event at the Kyobo Book Center in Seoul, South Korea, which was held on February 10, 2019 in the after noon. Waris Dirie is an author of world’s best-selling book called Desert Flower, which she illustrated her experience with female genital mutilation (FGM).

Waris Dirie gave a word of love and peace to about 200 people who came out to see her, saying “I am very surprised to see this many people who came out to see me. I want to make a world where everyone can stand for each other’s rights and prosperity.”

When the Book Signing started, she made eye contact with each and every one of her fans and one of them even cried because she was too excited and mesmerized to see her in Korea.

To young people at the event, she shared a message of encouragement stating “Love and respect yourself, realize your dream and life is something you should take the lead in creating your own future, instead of expecting someone to help you.
