Our laureates address the UN General Assembly

The 77th session of the UN General Assembly is being held in New York, USA from September 13th to September 27th under the theme A Watershed Moment: Transformative Solutions to Interlocking Challenges. Our laureates addressed the UNGA and called to build global solidarity to solve the shared crises such as COVID-19, climate change, and conflict.

“I have come to say that Africa has suffered enough of the burden of history; that it does not want to be the breeding ground of a new Cold War, but rather a pole of stability and opportunity open to all its partners, on a mutually beneficial basis,” Sall, the president of Senegal, told the General Assembly on Tuesday.

“The escalation of the hostilities involving more and more actors… coupled with the threat of a nuclear war have serious impacts on the world at large,” he said, while also noting that the contentious Taiwan issue and nuclear tests on the Korean Peninsula remain a concern, in the Asian region and beyond.
